Description
For sale is my Reliant Regent Van first registered in 1954. I have owned the Van since March 2016. It has been a "fun" addition to my small private collection of Classic Vehicles. It has been roadworthy since I purchased the Van however I do not tend to drive it at all often. Due to ever increasing age, I am now rationalising my collection and given that I dont tend to drive her then regretfully it is time for her to find a new home.
Regarding condition, the paint is generally in very good condition, in and out. The Roof Vinyl is new and in near perfect condition. The wood, as far as can be seen, is in very good condition. The interior has been re-upholstered with new seat covers and new padded engine cover. Tyres are also in good condition. There is evidence that a lot of the Aluminium body panels have been replaced and no deterioration is evident. The Van outside lettering was obviously done by a very competent Sign Writer and looks spectacular. The bench seat in the rear is NOT currently attached.
I purchased her fully restored and I have only needed to "maintain her" She has not seen rain since I purchased her and has been on display in a purpose modified barn with many of my other cars. When sold she will have had a service including an oil change.
The Van also comes with an original Instruction Book, many MOT's, some tax Discs plus other Reliant relevant literature including wiring diagrams and lubrication charts. The van is painted as a Co-operative Van for reasons that I do not know. From my limited investigations, it is quite likely that there was a Co-oP at Alcester in Evesham Street so there may be a factual reason for the Van Design. However I do not know any more about the history.
She can be used as is and is great fun to drive. She is however very uncomfortable (to my elderly back) and is probably not well suited to Motorway Driving!! so I would not buy her if you intend to motor long distances on a regular basis....
Viewing is strongly recommended as although I have described her to the best of my ability I cannot guarantee the Car
