This Rover 3500 Vanden Plas EFi Auto in Arum White was stored away at six years old in 1991 with 50, 000 miles in the owners garage attached to his house until I extracted it just over a year ago. I recommissioned the vehicle with many new parts, some of which are noted below and it is now MOT'd until September 2023. I could organise a new MOT if necessary.
Arum White is a relatively rare colour on these cars of which there were only 1038 Vanden Plas EFi's manufactured during 1984 and 1985 so I doubt there are many of this combination left. It retains the correct chocolate velour box pleat upholstery. To those that think leather was standard, the box pleat velour was a no cost option and in my opinion is a better choice and this is what this car has.
Recored radiator, cooling system flushed & refilled with new anti freeze.
New viscous coupling.
Fuel tank cleaned and refitted.
New fuel gauge sender unit.
New fuel pump & under car fuel lines.
New spark plugs.
New air filter.
New fuel filter.
New oil & filter.
Fully reconditioned front brake calipers.
New front brake pads & fitting kit.
New front ventilated discs.
New rear wheel cylinders.
New rear brake shoes.
New brake pipes.
New brake fluid.
New braided flexi brake hoses.
GM180 auto gearbox flushed and refilled.
New front anti roll bar bushes.
New bottom arm bushes.
New correct specification battery.
New gear lever selector bushes.
New alternator & PAS belts.
New rocker cover gaskets.
New washer pumps.
New radiator & expansion tank coolant level probes and rubber seals.
And plenty more that I have probably forgotten.
It is currently wearing another set of wheels and tyres that I had, but the originals are about to be refitted and are exactly the same, the correct Vitesse 15” alloys.
Some of the rocker cover bolts and exhaust manifold studs were replaced along with new downpipe sealing rings. It is fitted with the correct mild steel exhaust system.
The interior is is exceptional condition and is one of the few SD1's that I have seen that does not have the usual dash top warp (caused by the sun). The headrests all have their extra pads. Remember that this is genuine 50, 000 mile car.
Cosmetic work still required is as follows:
Front bumper is cracked and requires a glass fibre repair and respray with matt plastic paint. This will give a better result than fitting one of the copies available.
Front fogs lamps fell apart so I have another excellent set to be fitted into the front spoiler, but the spoiler needs painting first.
There are a few paint blemishes from storage but nothing major and I have shown these in the photographs.
Fuel computer works as it should along with all electrics except for one electric rear window which WILL be a multi-plug connection or the switch which I will rectify before sale if I have time. If it turns out to be a failed motor I have a spare one here and they are easy to fit.
EDIT - electric rear window now fixed so all four now work.
The radio cassette is not fitted but is available for the new owner.
This car is fitted with air conditioning and cruise control as you would expect on this model, neither of which work, and I have not yet investigated so this is a job for the new owner. There is no belt fitted to the compressor although it turns freely.
The car drives well and is still fitted with the correct factory NIVOMAT rear suspension units which appear to be operating as intended.

The reason for sale is that I have too many cars including a low mileage Twin Plenum so this one needs to go.
