Built and upgraded by MGA Specialist Bob West in 2004 using a California car. The bare body was painted in Silver, non-original but stunning. The modifications included an MGB 1, 800cc engine in Fast Road specification from Aldon Automotive, a Syncromesh 5 speed gearbox by High Gear Engineering, uprated suspension with 480lb road springs and front anti-roll bar, period Microcell seats in Red leather and three-point inertia reel seatbelts.
I bought the car from Bob West directly in 2016 following a refurbishment and paint refresh to eliminate some chips on the door trailing edges. The car has completed only 6, 000 miles in my ownership and had a full service and MOT in April 2023. The quality of Bob West’s work is well known and the modifications to this car make it ideal for touring as well as occasional days out, the torque of the larger engine and 5 speed gearbox means you can keep pace with modern traffic and cruise on fast A roads and Motorways.
