Beschreibung

No longer on sale for the moment because my younger daughter has asked me if I could take her to the church for her wedding but after that we shall see. Just make contact...
The car has passed it's MOT with no advisories.
Please ask for more photos, available on request to serious potential buyers.
Having always owned MGs since my parents gave me a 1971 MG Midget on my 21st birthday, VOJ654J was the original registration number in the photo of the car on the local race track for a fun MG event where I had it shipped to Cape Town.
I have been investigating the future investment value of the limited numbers built of later special editions of the MG TF, the 85th Anniversary model & the LE500 model both of which were built at Longbridge by the original Rover workforce had been bought after going into receivership and having been built by the state owned Chinese SAIC motor group.
It seems that values are consistently rising, especially as these cars are ULEZ compliant which some earlier MG Fs and modern TFs are not.
The body shells were built in China & the engines were subject to a revision which would prevent the head gaskets from blowing as there had been during the time when the K type engines were built by Rover. The suspensions were also modified as the Rover built car's suspension had been shown to be too harsh. These were then shipped to the UK in SAIC's own ships and completely built up by the original Rover workforce in Longbridge.
I bought this ULEZ Compliant special edition MG through this Classic Car web site just before the pandemic struck.
Since buying the car I spent a good deal of money upgrading the car to enhance my driving pleasure and to make the car as safe as possible.
I used it sparingly before I fell victim to the pandemic and spent 2 months in the isolation ward at my local hospital and came out partly paralysed.
My improvements both cosmetically & mechanically include the following:-
An improved windscreen wiper linkage has been fitted.
I purchased a rare full tonneau cover which will certainly stand out amongst other MG roadsters of this type [shown in the photo advert] which is still very tight & upgraded the underbonnet fittings with chromed units on the front and rear 'bonnet' securing units. Under the rear engine 'bonnet' I fitted a chrome oil filler cap and the 2 vinyl plastic information covers. At the front compartment, the radiator top mounts and bonnet catch plate are now chrome plated and the other re-painted, along with a replacement battery trickle charger which lets the battery charge even when disconnected as there is a disconnecting wheel, for extended battery life. I leave the battery disconnected in the garage but with the trickle charger attached when not in use. I fitted a new battery at the same time. I take care if the car is not being used, to move the car so as not to get flat spots on the tyres.
While the car was on the lift having a pre MOT service a few years ago the MG specialist mechanic told me that the discs were slightly corroded on the inside so I took the decision to have the brake discs and pads replaced. The MOT was passed with no advisories.
The silencer pipe running under the car from front to back was replaced with one of stainless steel.
I have paid to have fitted an extra release mechanism in the cubby hole.
I had upgraded Poly bushes fitted to sharpen the suspension handling.
The car has a fast pull away and I suspect that a K Max chip was fitted by a previous owner.
There are four new matching tyres of the recommended Falken brand, with minimal use plus there is a spare rear alloy road wheel. The spare wheel on the car is unused.
I had a gear change linkage upgrade fitted to make gear changes more smooth.
The under side of the car I had under-sealed a few years back and I
had a Mike Satur Daytona exhaust fitted which enhances the sound.
There is a spare alloy road wheel. The cigar lighter is replaced with a dummy MG badged item. It still has the original radio CD unit as the cars engine sound track is all that I needed.
I have always garaged the MG although it has a matching hardtop which comes with a matching cover and pulley. Although it has been strictly a fine weather car one can use it throughout the year if you wish. Recently, at around 84500 miles when they gave the car a serious servicing, the Apple MG dealer fitted a replacement speedo/ mileometer binnacle as the speedo had became vague in it's action and I have the original unit.
Isuggest if you live within easy driving that you call around and test drive the car.
I live near Brands Hatch in Kent. I am very sad to part with my much improved special edition number 385 of 500. I bought the MG from an elderly gentleman who had purchased the car a some years previously from Trophy Cars who are the foremost purveyors of MG F & TF cars. He sold the car to me as his wife had died and the MG reminded him of the fun times that they had had driving the MG which made him sad..

I have decided tom discontinue the sale of my MG because my daughter wants me to take her to the church for her wedding.
