Beschreibung
Registered in 1977 this Leyland Princess is the 2200 HLS which was the top model in the range shortly after the Wolseley name was dropped. The car is finished in Sandglow with Sorrel velour interior. The HLS models had power steering, centre armrests, fully adjustable driver?s seat, tinted windows, vinyl roof and rubber bumper inserts.
Rescued from a barn in mid Wales in September 2021, Beatrice needed recommissioning after many years off the road.
I am the third registered owner, having bought the car from the daughter of the original owner. On his death the car passed to his wife Beatrice, hence the name. As the original owner worked in a carpet company, offcuts where used to act as carpet mats!
Beatrice has the original BL Passport to service and documentation.
Recommissioning including a Hydragas* suspension overhaul by the Kennedy?s, replacement fuel tank and lines, carburettor overhaul, new tyres, along with brakes, exhaust and various ball joints. Recently the car has had the crankcase oil seal replaced, steering rack, clutch slave cylinder ( master replaced previously) and a fresh MOT, even though the car is registered as historic. The mileage of 42k is believed to be correct, however can?t be fully verified.
The vehicle is in excellent original condition, however as with all classic cars it could do with a little attention to the bottom of the n/ s/ r rear door. I bought this car to get it back on the road, as it had great sentimental value to the previous owner. I have now recommissioned the car and used it to go to various shows, and I am also part of the Leyland Princess Club, however too many other cars and projects mean that i am not using it enough.
