I bought this lovely Mk2 Riley Elf in August 2008 (over 15 years ago) and am it’s 5th owner. It’s mileage of just 62, 000 miles is genuine. Now, MOT exempt, it is kept in good mechanical order and has just completed a circa 900 mile trip into the Scottish Highlands without any issues whatsoever. The car has never been restored, although, it has at some stage in its life, had a replacement R/ H front wing fitted. It is a VERY genuine and original car... It’s future owner may, at some stage, wish to replace the outer sills as they have been looking a little tatty for a while now, other than that, the bodywork is good (but not perfect) for a 60 year old car.
ARH124B was a car regularly seen on the popular TV series ‘Heartbeat’ and as such entitals the owner to be a member of the exclusive Heartbeat Vehicles Owners group... Having worked with cars in the TV world, I came across this car ‘on set’, it’s then owner Tim was a long time friend and a classic car enthusiast, his cars were always well turned out and maintained... I knew that the Elf would be too. I was initially turned down when I asked him if he’d sell it. No, he was going to keep it as it was such a good and reliable car for him... During it’s long life on Heartbeat, it didn’t cover many miles and likewise with me, it shared a place alongside my other classics and rarely got used... hence its still very low mileage. Once Heartbeat stopped filming, Tim retired and I got the option that I’d asked for, in August 2008 I became the proud owner of this car. I’ve used it a little, I’ve maintained it regardless of cost, it’s reliability of the recent 900 mile trip over a week is testament to that, but now it’s time to let her go... My hobby is has changed direction a little, my interests are now well and truely focused on pre war MGs and my collection is getting very demanding on my time and limited space...
