Very early Triumph TR2 longdoor in a 'price winning concours condition'. Owned for over 50 years by the current owner who has had the Triumph restored to perfection with great respect for originality. The car has been dismantled down to the last screw and maniacally restored beautifully. And all while retaining the special details of an early longdoor TR2. Without exaggeration, this Triumph is probably the most beautiful and original TR2 on sale today. And with a special history; this very early chassis number (TS 703 LN) was built at the Belgian Imperia factory in Nessonvaux, which closed its doors in 1958.

So this TR2 was built in Nessonvaux and painted by special request in the rare colour ‘Dolphin Grey’. This colour was not used in Coventry, which makes this Triumph even more exclusive. During the restoration, the car was professionally repainted in the same colour and the result is of a very high standard in every detail. The paint has a nice deep shine and there are hardly any signs of use. The sheet metal is very tight and the fits are correct. The bonnet has 4 cooling slots which only an early TR2 has. Of course, all trims have been replaced and a beautiful mohair hood has been fitted. This hood has 1 window and that is completely as it should be. New, this TR2 also had a hood with 1 window! There is also a tonneau cover, side windows with bags and a tarpaulin cover. The headlights have been replaced with the beautiful Lucas PL tripod lights, much more expensive, but infinitely nicer. There are other rare details, the angular tail lights are glass and there is 1 brake light in the middle and separate reflectors. Totally correct and with a keen eye for originality.

The complete interior is in top condition. The seats are newly upholstered by hand in Connolly leather, which cost a fortune. Of course, the dashboard is newly upholstered including the door panels and rear seat. The door panels have the correct door openers with rivets. All handwork done by craftsmen, just stunning!

The overhauled primordially reliable 1991cc engine is known for its simple and solid engineering. A fine low revving engine with plenty of torque that runs excellent both cold and hot. Under the bonnet, everything looks insanely beautiful, truly a picture. Everything is right down to the last detail and the engine compartment is nicely painted in colour. The battery and air filters have the correct stickers and everything has been restored or replaced correctly .
