Triumph Herald
Completely rebuilt in 2010 with many new panels including new bonnet & door skins. Body was media blasted painted & waxoiled.
Chassis outriggers replaced then shot-blasted & zinc sprayed. Painted black & then waxoiled.
Engine rebuilt 1500 spitfire unit with tuftrided crank & cam + unleaded head. Four branch exhaust manifold in to a 2” vitesse exhaust system all in stainless steel, all from John Kipping of Coventry.
Full width radiator fitted. Fully rebuilt HS4 carburettors.
Reconditioned Spitfire gearbox, overdrive & differential from T D Fitchett, new Canley classics half-shafts & new clutch.
Spitfire front & rear springs with Vitesse shocks on front & Spax on rear. All ball joints, track rod ends, trunnions & universal joints replaced. Reconditioned steering rack, spitfire wheels. GT6 Mk2 Front Discs & Mk2 Vitesse master cylinder recon calipers/ green stuff pads.
Interior has MX5 seats, Reconditioned heater matrix, New door cards, rear seat converted to a bench for luggage.
After all this hard work the car has covered the grand total of 4, 000 miles. It shows no signs of corrosion whatsoever. There are paint blemishes & imperfections on the body, the underside is as new.
