Description
Bugatti Brescia Project 1926
The car was campaigned for many years with a Non Bugatti engine and gearbox using the period 1930’s french registration document.
The car is built up of lots of period components with an original rear axle rebuilt by a Scandinavian specialist with new crown wheel and pinion, differential gears, bearings and brake drums. Correct Marchal lights front and rear, all period instruments, and is very much a complete rolling steering car (having left the Amilcar steering box used with the non Bugatti engine) to keep it mobile. I myself added a newly built gearbox with an original numbered lid and also had the radiator rebuilt by star engineering. The chassis is very pitted, older, but not original.
Due to a change in circumstances the project is ready to be taken over the line by a new owner, needing a late Brescia modifié engine incorporating the steering box and a clutch assembly to make it a complete car.
Around 2010 I inherited the car and registered it properly and have a current french registration document based on the original and dated correctly using a trust copy of the ledger.
Any Potential buyer will have to satisfy themselves with the quality/ origin of the components on the car in person.
It is offered as a project and sold strictly as viewed.
