All glass is original and clear with Mitsubishi logos. Quarter lights and rear sliding windows are lovely features and work perfectly. Old skool truck style rear view wing mirrors. - details above car is in Rep of Ireland, registered in my name, is taxed and NCTd and ready to drive. It is on a 2 yr NCT cycle and only has two more NCTs before exempt. This car is vintage with road tax of €56 and about €150 classic insurance. A really beautiful car in superb condition having been the subject of a full restoration including a very rare hot dip zinc galvanised chassis ensuring it will last for decades to come and only increase in value. Previously registered in the UK F190AFX , this is an easy re registration in UK and I can assist a UK buyer in terms of additional cost delivery or ease of collection / viewing in Ireland. Restoration was completed by me in 2018/ 2019, I am an engineer & petrolhead with a passion for vintage cars, machines and attention to detail, this was certainly a labour of love. I have had 5 years and 8000km of trouble free enjoyment and its now time for a new project.
This car features wonderful period features and look and feel, an extremely low cost of ownership and useful car and an absolute pleasure to drive. It always gets appreciating glances and questions and is as at home in a vintage classic car show as is being put to work. The 1989 model is the first year with the intercooler and also rear coil springs and rear discs, making it much nicer on the road than pervious models. It features the narrow body style before arches and wide stance became fashionable, and to my eyes is aesthetically better for it. Although hi tech and high power in its day, its not exactly fast, plenty to keep up with traffic but more at home on national roads than on the motorway. Driving it encourages a more laid back and stress free approach, capable of speeds above the speed limit but most comfortable at at gentler cruise.
Please note although restored as above it is a 35year old car and the body/ paint is original, there are some very minor marks around the body. Two areas I would attend to if I was being critical, one is there is some lacquer peel spots on the bonnet, not bad but not perfect, and secondly on the top of the sill at the drivers and passenger door there are some scratches, I am thinking that the elderly owner had a four legged friend ! neither detract from the car and I have been quoted €500-€800 to respray however I could not find someone locally to take it on in a reasonable timeframe. I will leave it to the next owner to decide whether to do it or not. In my ownership the car has been garaged all the time when not in use and rarely if ever used in the rain.
