Beschreibung
For sale is this lovely 1934 Riley 12/ 6 Kestrel 4-light saloon with 4-speed manual gearbox.
The car was restored by the previous owner about 20 years ago. It was a full body-off rebuild including much new ash framing for the body. The engine was extensively rebuilt including a re-bore, new pistons, re-ground crankshaft and all new white metal bearings (mains and big ends). The interior receive a full re-trim in leather to a high standard and correctly done. New headlining and sliding sun roof were fitted. There is a photographic record of the restoration and engine work.
Purchased by the current owner 14 years ago to join his collection of Rileys and other vintage cars but it has been unused for most of that time. Now due to age and health he is unable to drive or even get into the Riley. The other cars have all now been sold and this is the last one to leave. The car has just been recommissioned but the oil pressure is now rather low. All the white metal bearings are in excellent ‘as new’ condition so it’s not due to wear. It may be an easy fix for someone but the owner is unable to work on it now and an imminent house move means the car will sadly have to be sold at a very much reduced price compared to what it should be worth.
