My Model Y Roadster came out of a museum in 2018 and had the front and rear axles rebuilt, engine work, new bands, re-core of the radiator, new fuel tank, 5 new tyres, upgraded starter motor and conversion to 12v. I moved the foot switch for the starter to a button on the dash, but the original is still in place. I have added a reverse gear extender. These cars have a great aftermarket supply chain and a good club in the UK. The online MFTCA is also very responsive and helpful. I'm not an engineer able to manufacture parts, so this is a great way to own a 100 year old vehicle and be confident about keeping it on the road.
