After long debate, I have decided to put my TR7 V8 up for sale. I bought this car in May last year as a fun way of dodging the ULEZ in London (being exempt as a historic vehicle).
It's a late TR7 being on an X-reg and quite rare to be finished in Pharaoh Gold, which - along with the Tony Pond tarmac wheel arches - is what attracted me to the car. Although there isn’t much history with the car, it's clear that it has had some money spent on it over the years to turn it into a fast-road wedge. It has been professionally converted to V8 with the proper subframe, an SD-1 5-spd gearbox and short differential. The engine itself has a new 4-barrel Edelbrock and Offenhauser intake manifold. The tubular exhaust manifolds with a single silencer on each pipe at the rear also help make a nice noise. The suspension has been upgraded to Spax adjustable shocks and Eibach springs, the front brakes have also been upgraded to run Mk2 Escort calipers with vented discs, which have been rebuilt recently.
The car has of course been adorned with all the period enthusiast accessories: 6x Hella 3000 spotlights (they do unbolt), full tarmac-stage rally wheel arch kit, wide 13-inch minilite wheels, and bonnet pins. It has been repainted in its original colour and is of a good finish, sadly the large rear arches have accumulated some stone chips over the years. A full TR8 sticker set and black mohair hood was also fitted at time of repaint.
Most importantly, the body is in excellent condition with absolutely no signs of dodgy repairs or rot underneath and only a couple of minor bubbles ontop; I therefore wouldn't be surprised if the mileage showing (55k) is correct. The driver's door does have some corrosion at the bottom lip, which has been treated with rust converter, however this is only visible on the inside. The engine bay has had some previous repairs where the inner wings join the outers. Please ask and I can send detailed photos.
The tan and tartan interior is typical of 1970s British Leyland. However, it is overall in very good condition with everything present and working correctly. The car retains a period radio, which is a nice bonus, and has had a full new carpet set fitted recently. The seats and upholstery are in good condition with only minor age-related marks, however the driver's back rest is a bit loose, as is the arm-rest/ storage box lid and there is some wrinkling on the door cards. The roll bar and fire-extinguisher continue the 1970s rally enthusiast theme from the exterior, thankfully I haven't had to test these.
The TR7 drives very well with everything working as it should and no unwanted noises from the mechanical parts. The shorter differential ratio makes rowing through the gears a joy and gives good acceleration. The only downside to the driving experience would be that the ride is compromised due to the tarmac-stage rally tyres, which give fantastic grip, but have a very stiff sidewall. I would suggest the next owner replace these with non-motorsport derived tyres.
Any other questions, please ask.

Just to add, to stop all the messaging regarding the spotlights, they do unbolt very easily from the bumper along with the mounts.
(I could even do this for you if you don't own a spanner.)
