MNR Racing Ginetta G20 Junior Track Hillclimb Race Car Project - bespoke MX5 rolling chassis & bodywork
MNR Racing designed and built bespoke chassis to work with Ginetta G20 Junior bodywork. Due to lack of time to complete, I am now selling it on.
This is based on all parts from an MX-5 NB donor car. As many parts as practicable for reliability, and ease of replacement.
Details as below:
CAD designed MNR bespoke chassis with integrated cage. Grey powdercoat
2003 year MX5 NB engine, gearbox, diff, uprights, hubs, column, loom, switchgear, stalks clocks etc.. all items painted / powdercoated
Shortened driveshafts & propshaft
Rose jointed
New hub bearing, brakes and calipers
Relocated handbrake
Stock 1800 VVT engine – was running perfectly in donor - approx 100k
5 speed gearbox
Rear diff – non-torsen but I may be wrong..
Complete set of Ginetta G20 bodywork, bonnet, doors
Dashboard moulding (needs finishing to suit new chassis)
Set of team dynamics 15” alloys
Fuel and brake lines installed
MNR billet bias pedal box & reservoirs
Part panelled cockpit
MNR lightweight GRP seats and runners (new)
Ally radiator (new)
Protech shocks x (new)
Silicon cooling hoses and stainless bends (new)
Custom designed bonnet hinge frame
Perspex door glass (cut and drilled)
Sheet of correct grade lexan for back window
Nylon door hinges
Lighting set (front, rear, indicators)
Handbrake and cables (new)
Momo Model 31 suede steering wheel and MX5 fitting boss
Manifold fabricated (MX5 part)
Coolant lines / stainless header tank
MX5 V5 and chassis plate for IVA paperwork if required
Stainless silencer unit
Will require, other than build completion (note: this is not exhaustive list)
Fuel tank, pump
Exhaust to be assembled
Loom installed

Bodywork mounting
Main Bodywork shell unused but will need spider cracks removing / finishing
Doors and bonnet mouldings – new and unused – will need finishing
Interior panels (various – may be available from G20 specialists, De Spong Motorsport)
Windscreen (available on ebay – heated an option if for road use – from De Spong Motorsport)
Wiper motor and assembly (MX5 motor unit supplied)
The car could be made road legal but I think it would make for a far better lightweight Track / Hillclimb competition car with many tuning options for the bulletproof MX5 engine – turbo or supercharging.
Please note that this is not and doesn’t claim to be a Ginetta ! This is a fully bespoke and designed chassis, factory built by MNR Racing using bespoke wishbones and suspension parts. MNR can supply chassis no. When completed it will make an excellent race car or a totally unique road car that should be cheap and reliable to run as uses all stock MX5 parts.
Oh – and worth also bearing in mind that it is a dinky thing being originally designed as a race car for youngsters as a step up from karting - It’s a snug but comfortable cockpit.
