Land Rover series 1 1950 despatched in October that year Lights Through The Grill. 161 chassis number and engine. Free wheel box
Both chassis number and engine number nice and visible, original chassis excellent no patches etc
Overall a nice usable vehicle, had a lot of money spent on it over the years to keep it up together. Replaced with a lot of nos parts Necessary
Over the last few years it’s had the following;
Wandsworth wings inner/ outer, door bottoms, tailgate and refurbished the tub where nessary
New canvas undercover covers and x2 bench seats in tub
New tyres
Refurbished steering wheel new Bakelite rim
Refurbished fuel gauge
Rebuilt axles/ new seals, swivels, track rods
Gearbox stripped cleaned new seals and bearings
1600cc Engine runs/ pulls very well had a decoke and clean
Refurbished carb/ dizzy/ starter
New exhaust manifold
Autosparks wiring loom
New D lights and re-chromed headlight bezels
Cappings etc been re-galvanised
Correct rivets all way round
New Clayton heater
New Perspex windows in door tops and window channels
New windscreen glass
Suspension- New Jones springs/ shock absorbers, rubber bushes
Brakes- re-sleeved master cylinder, new brake pipes/ wheel cylinders/ shoes
Sheridised Bolts as per original
Few nice original features;
Cats eye headlights
Original seats nice condition for there age not ripped
Original dash with all gauges and warning lights
Couple of correct dated rims
Fairy Overdrive very handy on main roads
Huge amount of paper work/ invoices etc
Original buff log book and Reg
Paint work is very nice but does have the odd mark where it’s gets used but a very nice vehicle
