Description
This 356A Coupe has covered only 34409 miles from new, it has never been crashed or had any welding carried out, so all gaps are factory and panel fit is superb.
There is some rust on the bottom of the door skins, but this is the worst of it.
This is a full matching numbers car to the factory build sheet, which is supplied.
Purchased by Mr Shakespeare in 1958, a US Serviceman stationed in Dusseldorf, the 356 was ordered in European specification.
It was subsequently shipped back to the USA and used by his wife. It was laid up in 1969 in the San Fernando Valley, later found in 1990 by Bob Campbell of 356 Services, Bob didn’t want to sell the car and Richard King had to offer 25% over market value to prise it out of him, around 12 years ago he gave it to his wife Angela as a Christmas present so he couldn’t sell it when he was skint, she has remained the sole owner to date.
Aside from the Speedster seats that were fitted shortly after Richard purchased it, it is completely untouched, apart from mechanical work when needed.
The Marchal headlamps that are listed on the build sheet are still fitted to the car. The time clock is on the Kardex, the Ammeter & Oil pressure gauge were dealer fitted.
Chrome wheels are the rare 4. 5” with 10mm outset.
This 356 has been driven all over Europe by Richard & Angela.
Comes with original hand book, toolkit & jack.
Lots more photos can be forwarded.
