Description
This is a superbly modified MGC which has been built as a fast road car that can also compete in hillclimbs and sprints. It’s fitted with a 4-litre Rover V8 engine, a five-speed gearbox and modified rear suspension – the live axle has gone and in its place is an independent setup using Jaguar E-Type driveshafts and a limited slip differential (LSD) and fully adjustable single Protech shocks with inboard discs.
The genuine 16 inch Minilite alloy wheels (7J front, 8J rear) are like new and front brakes are AP four-pot alloy calipers and vented discs.
New Yokohama 008 tyres all round, and Sebring arches all round, with full metal arches to front.
Fully adjustable suspension all round (brand new Protech shocks on be back). These can all be easily adjust by hand to stiffen for sprinting or track days or wound off for a very comfy cruise on the road.
Safety Devices rollbar that can be removed via 16 easy to access internal bolts (takes 20 minutes max). Giving a less aggressive look if required.
In the last few years since I’ve owned it the whole of the front suspension has had ploy bushes fitted, and a built quick steering rack.
Engine fully rebuild by Modern and Classic top quality engine rebuilders, done less than 5000 miles ago. Approximately 260-270 BHP.
Gearbox has just been refurbished less than 50 miles ago ready for the next owner. So is still a little tight but loosening up with each run out( receipt for gearbox rebuild with car).
Built by the earlier owner back in the late nineties as a car that could compete with his friends TVR. He ended up with a superb road car that can perform on the track if required. With the V8 weighing in at less than the original straight 6 . Its has completely balanced weight distribution on each corner (25% each). Along with the LSD, making it brilliant fun to drive.
Too much money spent to add it all up… but this is a bargain and I am only reluctantly selling to fund a full race car project I’m involved in.
