Description
This Bullnose was restored around 25 years ago by a leading authority on Bullnose Morris Cars, who was Director of the Bullnose Morris Club, very nice chap, (better not write his name here but I have his correspondence see narrative below). The car has been in my custodianship for almost 13 years and sadly now selling in preparation for downsizing.
The car has some interesting points: I believe its the oldest Cowley known to the Club that left the factory with front brakes - which are actually very good and avoid those heart in mouth situations when driving on today's roads.
The restorer was clearly intrigued by the car as I have letters and correspondence between him and Kent County Council Records. Office: when the car was first registered it was as an MG and of course a handful of very early MG production models were produced in 1925 - add in the front brakes and you can possibly see where he was going with this, but the trail seems to have gone cold. I have never tried to go any further with it....
Getting back to the car itself, for me the condition is perfect - an older restoration that has stood the test of time very well indeed with just a hint of ageing. But none of the dreaded micro blistering in the paintwork, good mechanics and starts on the button.
Fitted with a nice bronze SU carb, dynamometer all working, spare Magneto in the boot but never needed - in fact, thinking about it the most reliable classic I have ever owned. The hood and weather gear is all in good quality double duck and in good shape - I have treated them a few times to keep it that way. There is a tonneau and hood cover that really finish the car off beautifully.
Give me a call if you are interested happy to chat, organise viewings etc. I know pre war cars are supposedly not 'on trend' which always surprises me as whenever we go out in the car it attracts loads of interest and brings a smile to peoples faces, its such a friendly and endearing machine.
Decent amount of paperwork with the car including old style log book, receipts, books and restoration photos.
