1981 Honda CB900 F Bol d’Or
I have had this bike since 2013 and it is a really good example. No marks or scratches, lovely paint and brightwork and rides really well.
I have always loved the 80s super bikes and I wanted to get a really good one and this is the one I chose. It is an original UK Market bike, matching numbers, no stories and it was sold by H. G. B. Motorcycles Ruislip and first registered on 31/ 3/ 81. This is all backed up with the original service booklet which has all of the details in plus it even still has its original dealer HGB keyring!!! It also comes with its original owners manual.
I am the 3rd owner after 44 years - the two former owners are in the file as is the bill of sale from December 1982 when the second owner acquired it.
When I purchased the bike in 2013 I had some work done to it to bring it up to a really top condition:
- the brake callipers were rebuilt, braided hoses put on front and back.
- I replaced the exhaust with a Vance and Hines - this fits perfectly, looks/ sounds amazing and the engine breaths much better (original pipes I stupidly sold, sorry they don’t come with it)
- Forks stripped and rebuilt
- Clutch stripped and rebuilt
- Bike repainted in Honda Britain colour scheme
- Honda racing ‘Giuliari’ seat put on (I have kept the original)
- Smaller indicators put on (I have the original ones if you would like to return it to standard)
- Other parts that come with it are - original mirrors, rear luggage rack, front engine crash bars, various other bits I’ve kept.
This is a really lovely bike that covers the miles beautifully and is also a total blast in that 50-90mph fun zone before things get too serious. I have covered only 2, 000 miles in the 12 years I have had it which kind of explains why I’m selling it but I am torn as it is a great bike, always dry stored and well looked after with regular servicing. I sadly just don’t use it enough
The Honda is also tax and MOT exempt as a historic vehicle and all the paperwork is correct for this.
