Offered for sale here, is an excellent example of the 1989 G Wagon. Featuring very rare automatic transmission and full off-road conversion including larger wheels, tyres, rock bars and bull bar, this 300 GD presents in excellent condition for a car that is over 35 years old.
According to the logbook, we appear as the 3rd owner of the vehicle and it was purchased by ourselves in 2023 after sitting in dry storage for over 25 years. Remarkably the underneath of the car showed no sign of corrosion due to its previous treatment and long term dry storage. It is clear to see that the car had been prepared for off road use due to the scale of the wheels/ tyres and rock bars underneath. We are aware that the previous deceased owner took the car to Austria for off-roading exhibitions on numerous occasions.
The car has been badged in Puch/ Steyr styling, but the original Mercedes Badging also accompanies the sale along with 2 spare front seats, 4 x wheels and tyres in great condition and a host of spares. The interior is full recaro throughout. Recent works have included the complete reconditioning of the oil pump, reconditioning of the Turbo, new head gasket and head bolts. This work was undertaken by specialists at great expense. While the head was off, we were able to inspect the camshaft, injectors and engine internals, all of which were visibly in very good condition. The car has MOT until December 2025.
The car presents in great condition throughout, the underside is in exceptional condition for its age and the bodywork is good for a car of this age.
