BEFORE I MAKE ANY DECISIONS I AM OFFERING THE CAR AT A SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED PRICE, IN CASE ANYONE IS SERIOUSLY INTERESTED IN AN OUTRIGHT PURCHASE.
Sadly I have to part with my beloved Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe, an iconic 1940’s American sports tourer with a 3. 5 litre straight six petrol engine, and, specifically, an extremely rare right-hand-drive example having been exported to Capetown from new.
This car has just starred in a film (please don’t ask which film as I am contractually not allowed to divulge due to a statutory confidentiality agreement as the film has not yet been released!). I am not attaching any added value because of this…. it just adds to her interesting and colourful history!
She is finished in silver over gunmetal with a delightfully original yet rustic interior…… cracked leather, rusty metal dashboard, original steering wheel, headlining etc.
Whilst she was resprayed in the 1990’s, some of the paintwork has deteriorated as has the chromework to the bumpers. However, in my opinion, all this adds to an authentic patina which gives the car her own unique character and enjoyment. She is used almost daily “around town” and for occasional longer journeys, so it is fair to say she is reliable! The gearbox whines a bit but that is fairly typical of these cars and, if it does bother you, I am including a spare one in the boot, along with a host of other spares!
So…… I have endeavoured to be open and transparent about her overall condition. Needless to say, any RAC / AA / independent garage inspection is welcomed by appointment.
The price is fixed at £14, 850 (with an agreed insurance valuation of £24, 500 to cover a “worst scenario” situation) which, god forbid, never happens! However, if you want to talk about some kind of “deal” which could help you purchase this much cherished car, then please feel free to approach me. I will certainly listen, and will do my utmost to accommodate a sensible proposal. I would love to own this car again one day so I would be most keen to sell her to someone who would allow me first option to re-purchase as and when in the future!
