Description
Completely rebuilt and modified over several years until about about 6 years ago by the previous owner using a fully rebuilt Rover SD1 engine and 5 speed manual gearbox. Then he used it very little over the following 5 years and kept it in a carcoon. So it's now ready for a lot of fun. with the glorious sound of the V8.
The body was completely stripped and rebuilt using a rotating jig to get to and remove all rust, fitted with new wings (inner and outer), cills (inner and outer), floor sections, ventilated bonnet (no bulge), door skins, hood, leather seats, speedo and rev counter, uprated front brakes, new rear brakes, telescopic rear damper conversion, 15 inch wheels, etc etc with the rubber bumpers replaced with chrome and the suspension lowered to original running height but retaining anti-roll bars front and rear, then repainted throughout and waxoyled extensively.
The engine was rebuilt with new cam and followers, bearings, cylinder bores honed, Edelbrock carb (from RPI engineering), RV8 radiator, Clive Wheatley sports manifolds (all with special attention to heat insulation) and Stainless Steel exhaust also with very careful attention to fitting compact to the underside to maintain good ground clearance.
The previous owner then retained it for 5 years using it very little and keeping it in a carcoon prior to my purchase last year.
Since then, I've done a multitude of maintenance and improvement tasks - including engine service and set up (including plugs, oil, coil, electronic ignition, carb tuning), attention to door locks (they all work), steering lock, everflex soft top fitting (it's still tight).
So it creats attention, is ready for summer and just is a lot of funSo why did I buy it ? I wanted a V8 again (I had several TVR's in period), I knew the Rover V8 ... and it was by far the best I have seen. Sadly - I just don't use it enough - so it's for sale.
