This is a brilliant opportunity to own a well cherished and looked after mark 3 escort cabriolet. It was bought as a fixer upper in early March and was not in a roadworthy condition and had a few small bits wrong. I fitted a new exhaust from the 2-1 branch backwards as the old one had rotted away. New set of tyres all around and a fresh layer of wax oil to go along. Now there are some age related marks as it is a 40 year old car. The dash is unfortunately cracked in a fair few places however the radio still functions perfectly and is still back lit. All of the gauges on the dash are functional and so are the warning lamps (although none stay on after starting) Recently replaced the interior lamp as the old was had crumbled away and has just had a fresh set of NGK R plugs. In the outside, there is some paint that has chipped away from the front valence, however, that is the only paint issue. The roof is original and is starting to show its age with a the corners having become a bit frayed however it is fully air and water tight. The drivers seat bolster has fallen away a slight bit however it it still a very comfortable ride. All of the gears feel very positive and it’s is a very reluctant sale as I’m went in a bit blind to owning my first classic car and didn’t realise how much the insurance would be for a young driver like myself. It has been a delight to own and show however it must go to a better home where it can be better looked after as it is a shame it cannot get driven as much as it should. I bought it as it has always been my dream to own an escort and it was a rare opportunity that came up for a good price. It needed work mind you but I couldn’t pass it up. It was and still is gorgeous. I love the slight rasp that these CVH engines make and it will dearly be missed.
