For sale is my 1999 Alfa Romeo 916 Spider in Lusso spec, fitted with the fantastic 2. 0 Twin Spark 16v engine.
I bought this car last year in need of some work, with the intention of building a great Twinspark Spider to add to my Youtube channel garage, (The Alfa Nut) but now my circumstances have changed and I must reluctantly part with this lovely restored Alfa.
I have spent several months and a small fortune, replacing parts including the gearbox, upgrading engine mounts, sensors, cam belt and auxiliary belt and associated components, with the objective of making the car drive "as new" again, with a gorgeous rasp from the stainless steel twin-outlet exhaust.
I succeeded in my ambition but now I find myself forced to sell, so all my time, money and effort will sadly benefit the new owner instead of myself. The work done to the car was considerable, most of it completed by "Totally Alfa" here in Devon, to a high standard and with all genuine Alfa parts.
The Spider is in original spec, with some sensible upgrades:

The Spider is now completely sorted and is ready to drive and enjoy, with that throaty growl from the twin stainless tailpipes. The car is not perfect - there are a few squeaks from the hood (only when it is up!) and I haven't regassed the aircon, as I only drive it with the roof down. It has some minor paint & interior imperfections on close inspection but overall the car looks fantastic and is undoubtedly one of the most sorted and best driving 916 Spiders on the road this Summer.
Having had the car up on a lift for some time doing the restoration work, it was noted what great condition the floorpan, arches and sills were in, with no rust evident and overall the car appears solid throughout, with lovely glossy black body work. These cars had galvanized bodywork from the factory, so rest assured, the tired old cliche of "rusty Alfas" is well and truly a thing of the past!
I also have a set of used 17" Momo "Ferrari Design" alloy wheels with excellent Avon ZV1 tyres as an upgrade option if the buyer prefers.

I'm sad to be selling but my loss could be your considerable gain and Spiders this good are few and far between these days. It would be difficult to find a more fun, stylish & reliable convertible for such a small amount of money as this!
Featuring a great sounding "Twin Spark"engine with plenty of power, cool Momo red leather interior and great handling, (rumoured to have been developed using ideas inspired by a Lotus Elan that Alfa bought to study!) the Spider is a lot of car for not much cash and it's fair to say that once you have owned one of these little beauties, you might find yourself catching the "Alfa Virus"!
