Description

Full nut and bolt rebuild over the last 6 years and past its first MOT a few weeks ago. Nearly all panels replaced with genuine heritage panels with no repair sections anywhere. Front panel, inner and outer wings, bonnet, scuttle, A panels, floor pan, inner and outer cills, door steps, door skins, rear quarters, arch tubs, back panel, rear valance, boot floor, boot lid, roof panel to name most of them. It’s basically a new shell and all inner structures have been epoxy coated and flooded with a cavity wax( bilt hamber). Car was on a rotisserie to get best access and the whole underside was epoxy coated, seam sealed and then stone chipped(3m) before getting colour coat and lacquer. Every section has been painted underneath as well as inside.
Subframes, hubs, radius arms have all been blasted and then painted in epoxy, all new suspension( gaz adjustable and Hi-lows), new wheel bearings, ball joints track rods, new steering rack, adjustable camber arms front and KAD brackets at the rear. New braking system, minisport 4 pot alloy callipers, braided hoses, new fixings throughout.
Engine is a 1275 A+ bored out +60 to 1330, stage 3 head with larger valves, Newmans fast road billet cam, fully balanced bottom end with a lighter flywheel and new clutch. ARP head bolts and con rod bolts, forged 1:5 rockers, fully rebuilt gearbox with new bearings and bulk rings. X pin diff and central oil pick up pipe.
Running a HIF 44 carb but also have twin 1. 5 HS4 fully rebuilt carbs to come with the car.
Interior has a newmans carpet set, headliner and all new door cards. Fully sound deadened under carpet, on doors and roof. New interior wiring loom and custom dash.
Every nut and bolt has been changed, stainless used where possible, the car is better than new.
The body was epoxy coated before primer and then colour coated in Tweed Grey. 3 coats of lacquer before being flatted back and flow coated with 2 more clear coats.
No expense has been spared during the rebuild which has been a passion over these years and to replicate would cost in excess of £20k. Truely lovely car and a regrettable sale. When I bought the car it was low mileage and looked in good condition. When I started the work I decided I would replace all necessary panels instead of patching in repair pieces as I wanted it to be as good as possible and last a long time. The project went far beyond what I set out to achieve initially but the final results are worth it.
