These cars are just lovely. Smooth torquey engine with bags of flat four character. Oily smooth and accurate steering that give the perfect amount of feedback and weight. If only modern cars had steering like it.
Wonderfully gear change that clicks into each gear in such as satisfying way. Only four gears but they are matched perfectly to the engine’s torque characteristics so that I never felt it needed a five speed.
Ride quality is quite exceptional.
These cars can rust every where so I bought this one because it was rust free with original wings and sills. It’s so straight and clean with amazingly tight panel gaps. Honestly the body is better finished than a Rolls of the era and puts an Alfa to shame.
I recommend coming to see it. All welcome, from the serious buyers to the curious. I enjoy showing off what is such a beautiful car. As well as condition, it’s the way this car drives that makes it really stand out. I have spent a lot of time and money getting everything to work as it should. I paid a lot for it from a “stealer”. I could see the body was good, but it drove badly in every way. Noisy, slow, ponderous and it didn’t really stop. I should’ve walked away. Instead I took on a full rebuild of all the major components. Engine, brakes, suspension and gearbox, all rebuilt.
As an automotive engineer I new from the way this thing is designed it could be made to drive nicely. Now it really is a wonderful car to just get in and go for a drive in. It flows down the road in such an effortless yet engaging way.
