Mk2 (NB) Mazda MX-5 Icon v1, registered in May 2000 and with just under 29700 miles on the clock.
Immaculately looked after by its former keepers, the bodywork is in excellent condition, as is the interior, the hood and the underside of the car. The previous owner bought the car in 2012, had it undersealed and kept it garaged throughout, using it in the summer only, hence the low mileage.
Cobra alarm in full working order.
Some subtle cosmetic enhancements, including chrome trim (interior and engine bay), a Mazda mx5 chrome boot rack and clear side repeaters.
The original alloys and shocks were replaced with Lenso 16" BSX rims and Gaz Pro Gold coilovers, giving the car a lower, sportier stance with the wheels filling the arches - the car has a fast-road suspension set-up that has sharpened the handling. The tyres are Falken Ziex and have little wear, but date back to 2012 so would benefit from being replaced.
Sports exhaust adds to the sportiness of the drive and gives a wonderful note when pushed hard with no drone.
Service history is a mix of independent garages and self-servicing by the former keeper.
Mileage is low for a 25yr old car, you can see from the MOT history that it has done very few miles in the last few years so after I had it MOT'd early and checked over by TW Whites Mazda, the original supplying dealer. They gave it a clean bill of health and the MOT, with no advisories, is valid until July 2026.
Given the little use over the past decade or so, for my own peace of mind I put it through a comprehensive service with a respected MX-5 specialist at the end of July 2025 - which included gearbox, diff & engine oils change; new spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, coolant and aux belts; brake service with fluid change; and the clutch fluid has also been renewed. I have a spare Lenso BSX, unused and boxed, included in the price as passenger side alloys have light scuffs, one on the rear, two on the front - barely noticeable unless up close, see photos. The condition of this car is truly amazing, the previous keeper has done an excellent job in their detailing, with the Art Vin Mica paintwork arguably in showroom condition. The photographs don't quite do it justice, it's a fabulous colour that contrasts well with the chrome.
I've owned the car since May this year and had intended to keep it for the forseeable future but a change on the work front means I can't justify keeping this and my 2007 BMW 130i LE which is also advertised on this site - make me an offer for both :)
In summary, car's asking price includes 1 spare Lenso BSX alloy wheel - new and boxed.
