First supplied by Alexander's of Spalding Lincs to Mr Dennis Wells of Bourne, Lincs who kept the car until 1999, Then to its second owner Mr Phillip Clark of Bristol who kept the car until 2012.
Mr Clark little used the vehicle throughout his ownership as the service history bears this out. It obviously needed some tender loving care as the vehicle underwent a full respray with repairs to the floor, full servicing, a new carburettor and distributor costing around £2000 in 2008.
It went into dry storage in 2011 until 2013 when it was consigned for sale to Cleevewood Garage, Bristol whom I purchased the car from in June 2013. It was supplied to me complete with full service and MOT history all of which bears out the mileage of 47, 000 miles at the time of purchase.
Performance and economy have greatly been improved by the fitting of a new Weber carburettor conversion.
Further improvements: During its Winter 2013/ 14 lay up the car underwent a complete cosmetic refurbishment of the engine, engine bay and boot. A new brake master cylinder was fitted in Spring 2014.
Further improvements in Autumn 2014: the fitting of four new tyres and a complete replacement exhaust system in stainless steel, plus various cosmetic improvements to window rubber trim and bodywork.
June 2015 MOT passed after repairing n/ side front ball-joint and brake wheel cylinder to the rear n/ side.
The car comes complete with the original sales invoice displayed here – a lot of car for £1293. 98!!
