The pull-handle MGB refers to the earliest production versions of the MGB roadster, built between 1962 and 1965, distinguished by their unique external door handles with push-button latches. These cars marked the introduction of the MGB, which replaced the MGA and brought a more modern, unitary construction body that was lighter and stronger than its predecessor’s body-on-frame design. Powered by the 1. 8-litre B-Series four-cylinder engine, the pull-handle MGB offered respectable performance for the era, along with improved comfort and practicality compared to earlier MGs. The pull-handle design was phased out in late 1965 in favour of more conventional push-button handles that met new safety regulations, making the early models relatively rare today. As the purest and earliest expression of the MGB’s design, pull-handle cars are especially prized by collectors for their historical importance, simplicity, and classic 1960s sports car charm.
