Description
1969 Lotus Elan +2. Tax and MOT Exempt. I have owned this car since 2001 it shows me as the fifth owner on the V5. Much work has been carried out and it was subject to a body refresh and a respray in the original Carnival Red in 2003. Quite a lot of updating, engine bearings, piston rings, new brake discs, suspension parts, trunnions, shock absorbers, driveshaft do-nuts etc. have been carried out. Some fibreglass crazing can be seen but nothing serious or in need of attention.
The interior has a recent perforated headlining and the front seats have been retrimmed in black with red piping. A new wooden dashboard was installed. New boot floor boards have been fabricated, and the boot retrimmed with a red edged black carpet to match the interior.
The car is fitted with rare Knock On Revolution Alloy Wheels. It is believed that the Chassis is original.
I no longer have garage space so I now need to pass the car on.
It is a good useable car that could be used as it is but it does require recommissioning and is priced to reflect this. There are some trim items that need finishing. It has had very little use in the last few years, mainly due to also having a newer Elan.
I have priced the car at a value to reflect its need for recommissioning and to be realistic. it isn't a concours car but with a bit of effort it will make a decent useable example of these undervalued cars.
I may be open to offers around the asking price and may consider a part exchange for the right vehicle.
