Description
This carefully restored 8 owner MGC is looking for its next home, the car comes with and extensive and fascinating history, it has over time been restored back to its former glory back in 68.
For those that know the MGC is the ‘daddy’ of the MG’s and very rare with only 9, 002 models produced in the two years (4, 542 Roadsters and 4, 460 GT’S).
For those who want a bridge between the lighter, simpler 4-cylinder roadsters of the early 1960s and the thirstier, heavier sports-GTs that followed the MGC represents that transitional moment in British sports-car history
The idea behind the MGC was to offer a higher-performance version of the popular MG MGB — and also, in a way, to succeed the outgoing Austin-Healey 3000, which had just finished production.
Although from the outside it looked very similar to an MGB, under the skin the MGC was substantially re-engineered with a bigger 2. 9-litre inline-6 engine but there are a few subtitle details, the MGC has a distinct power bulge in the centre of the bonnet plus two smaller side bulges whereas the MGB bonnet is smooth and flat.
This particular example benefits from:
Comprehensive service records since 1997
9895 Miles on the odometer
MG moto-lita steering wheel
15" wire wheels
Rear luggage rack
MoT Certificate trail going back to 1995
Photos dating back to 1978
Original adverts
Original MG Owners Club Magazine Issues No. 9 and No. 10
The car also comes with a large file of receipts for work undertaken from 1997 to 2025.
This MGC is in impeccable condition stored in a garage and ready to drive away. This MG MGC was discovered by its second owner in 1996, stored in a barn and awaiting revival. It was subsequently repainted and fully restored, and has benefitted from meticulous maintenance throughout its life. The interior has also been reupholstered.
