Description

This really nice Alfa Romeo 156 1. 8 twin spark Turismo has had only 4 previous owners, the last owning it from 2007 until 2025. It still has its book packs including the service book with 8 stamps in it, there is no supporting servicing since 2018 but i believe that there was, however the mileage since this date is only 7000 miles so you could argue it didn't need one but i have carried out a service. The car has a current full 12 months MOT which is advisory free. I bought this vehicle privately in June this year as it had failed its MOT and i was looking for a project to keep me occupied as i'm retirement and this car could have ended up being scrapped and it was far too good for that and i just had to save it and give it another life and now i have completed what it needed its now for sale and would make an ideal starter classic for an enthusiast.
Its an Alfa and of course it did have some rust issues, but no way as bad as the failure sheet hinted at which you can check on line. The rust issues were mainly the rear foot wells around the drain holes, a small section on the front nearside sill and a small section on the rear offside sill, both front lower front wings had some rust and all this was cut out and replaced with new metal. I thoroughly wax oiled all suspension and sub frame components including all suspension body mounting points to preserve and lengthen the cars life. There were some areas of original factory under body coating that was failing and i removed this and re shultzed the underside to try and keep it factory looking as possible. I have serviced the car which included the cambelt, new battery and new exhaust from the cat back, tyres are good quality Avons on the front with bridgestones on the rear with lots of tread. I have thoroughly gone through the car and is a very good example, there is only one issue, the starter is a bit lazy and appears that its a battery issue, but that is new and further investigation is needed. In some of the paperwork there is a note it had a new starter in 2018. The body and interior are in very good condition for a 23 year old car. The price doesn't reflect that there is anything wrong with it, just want to cover my costs in saving this reasonably rare Alfa as its mostly the V6 and diesel models that have survived rather than the lesser models like this 1. 8 twin spark as there are roughly 32 examples that survive and it gives the next owner room to maybe get the wheels that could do with a refurb and further improve the car more and still have a vehicle that has value.
The Alfa is still on its original supplying dealer number plates which is quite a nice touch.
Hope all this makes sense, thank you for reading this far.
