1997 Mazda MX-6 V6
Currently SORN and no MOT.
Runs really nicely overall. Clutch bites close to the floor, I suspect a new slave cylinder is needed but I simply don't have the time to work on the car at present. Loss of garage space forces sale.
Lots of history documents detailing previous work. Timing belt replaced at 73, 500 miles. Undersealed by previous owner, sills are good, as are the wheel arches. Remarkably rust-free for a 90's Mazda.
Paintwork very good for age, apart from a few spots: bonnet has a few tiny chips; small patch of paint bubble on front drivers side wing; small chip/ rust patch above windscreen; minor scrape on plastic bumper, rear driver's side (see pictures).
Aside from regular maintenance (oil, etc.) I replaced the auxiliary belt, sway bar links and strut bearings, and had the wheels balanced and aligned. Also replaced the brake discs and pads. Tyres still have a good amount of tread. Wheels are solid with no curb rash, although paint has deteriorated in places. Air conditioning does not appear to work - unsure if this is a re-gas or compressor replacement job. Slight suspension sound when steering at very low speeds, I suspect a worn bushing.
Interior is full leather. Generally in good condition, although there is wear on one part of the driver's seat (see picture). Interior plastics are all rather nice.
The car was my daily driver for almost a year and ran very well. Very fun to drive, and a nice understated exhaust sound. New job meant I needed a car with slightly better MPG, so the Mazda has been garage-stored for a few months.
