The History
RTE 935G is a genuine piece of British motoring heritage. One of only ten MGCs delivered to the Lancashire Police in May 1969, this "M6 Interceptor" patrolled the motorway until 1971. After 30 years in dry storage, it has been subjected to an exhaustive, shell-up restoration to Concours-winning standards.
The Build
No stone was left unturned in returning this car to the road. The body was shot-blasted to bare metal, with all historic police modifications (aerial and signage holes) professionally welded and corrected.
• Engine: Original 2912cc unit, fully rebuilt, balanced, and lightened (7kg off the flywheel) for a significantly more responsive drive. Finished in correct Austin Green.
• Drivetrain: Original 4-speed gearbox with essential Overdrive.
• Chassis: Suspension fully rebushed with adjustable Spax shock absorbers. Braking system entirely renewed (calipers, cylinders, and lines).
• Protection: Underneath treated with stone-chip, then primed and top-coated. The entire car has been protected with Waxoyl and ACF-50.
Interior & Finish
The cabin has been masterfully restored with re-foamed black leather seats, new soundproofing, and carpets. The original steering wheel has been retained. The dashboard was bead-blasted and returned to the correct black crinkle finish. The car sits on factory steel wheels, color-coded to the body in Old English White.
