Description
Excellent original example of the most powerful of the Lotus Excel models fitted with engine producing 180 HP, identified by red cam covers. Top speed advertised by Lotus 138 mph with a 0 to 60 time of 6. 8 Seconds.
The Excel model benefited from a hot dip galvanised chassis and the Lotus collaboration with Toyota, which included Toyota supplied; outboard disc brakes all round, gearbox, power steering, transmission, and rear differential.
Original factory finish, British Racing Green Metallic paintwork with full leather Sandringham interior and Delux headlining.
I bought the car in March 2021 (7 former owners) as a lockdown project which included an extensive professional recommissioning.

Service May 2026
History file has MOT certificates and Service/ bills since my ownership. A lovely looking car, with a beautiful colour combination and interior spec that suits the model.
Looks good at car shows even with original paint except the roof/ bonnet which lift the whole car.
I have done 1, 600 miles since it was recommissioned and it’s a pleasure to drive, handles just like a Lotus!
After 5 years of ownership I am only parting with it as I have a new project, a V8 Esprit!
