In South America, this model was also known as the “Caribe GT”. True enthusiasts know how rare this vehicle is today. Transparent ownership historyThis vehicle was originally purchased new in August of 1984 from a Volkswagen dealer in Texas by a German expatriate, who drove the car in the USA before bringing it to Germany in 1986. The car then changed hands to its second owner in 2002, who kept it for over 20 years. During this time, it underwent a meticulous restoration using only original Volkswagen parts, including a full respray in the factory original color. It was only used in summer on historic “07” plates. I am the third owner and personally know both previous owners. The car was even exhibited in the GTI special exhibition at the Volkswagen AutoMuseum in Wolfsburg.
