Description
I'm reluctantly offering my very rare 4 door 1974 Datsun 100A for sale after owning it for the past 7 years.
The car has covered just 31, 213 miles, and during my ownership it has only travelled around 400 miles. It starts, runs and drives well, although I feel the engine would benefit from a little tuning to get it running perfectly. I have recently replaced the choke cable.
The bodywork is in excellent condition for its age, with only a few age-related marks. The car remains largely original, with the only non-original parts being the driver's front wing and the rear window. There is also a small dent on the rear section of the roof above the rear window, caused by something falling onto the car before I owned it.
Over the last couple of years, the following parts have been replaced:
New alternator
New fuel pump
New fuel filter
New water pump
New thermostat and thermostat housing
The front brake pads were replaced around five years ago. More recently, I've noticed one of the front brake calipers is beginning to stick slightly and will likely benefit from being refurbished.
Around 18 months ago, I repaired a section of the exhaust to keep it in good order. It has held up well, but I would now recommend replacing the exhaust.
Overall, this is a very honest, solid and increasingly rare classic Datsun that would make a great addition to any collection or could be enjoyed as a usable classic with a little light recommissioning. I'm trying to be as open and honest as possible about the car so that potential buyers know exactly what they're viewing.
Serious enquiries are welcome. Please call or wattsapp me if you would like more information or to arrange a viewing. Please no withheld or private numbers.
I bought this Datsun 100A because I've always had a soft spot for Japanese classics. They're becoming increasingly rare, and finding one that is largely original was important to me. Over the past seven years, I've enjoyed owning and preserving it, even though I've only driven it around 400 miles.
What makes this car stand out is its originality and low mileage. Apart from the driver's front wing and rear window, it remains original, which is something that's becoming harder to find. It has never been modified and still has the charm and character that made these little Datsuns so popular.
My favourite thing about the car is how much attention it gets wherever it goes. It's a real conversation starter, bringing back memories for people who owned one or learned to drive in one. It's a simple, lightweight and enjoyable classic that always puts a smile on your face.
I'm only selling because it's no longer getting the use it deserves, and I'd rather see it go to someone who will enjoy, preserve and appreciate this increasingly rare classic.
