Lotus Elan +2 first registered 13/ 10/ 69
For sale is my Elan +2 that I have owned since 2016, that I am selling as she no longer gets the use she deserves. I have a massive history file dating back to the late 1980's, including photographs of the chassis change (Lotus galvanised), rebuild and repaint, She has been well looked after, and after I purchased her I went a bit over the top and spent close to £10k on parts and labour, including engine rebuild, clutch, diff rebuild, semi solid driveshafts (Susan Miller) - please see details.
The paintwork is very presentable, however there is some micro-blistering on the boot, and roof - see pics, and some spider crazing on the bonnet, however the paint has a lovely deep shine and polishes up really well and is very presentable. Sadly there is a scratch on the ns/ f wing (my fault) - see pics.
The interior - seats, headlining, carpets and dash are all good and a lead has been added to play music from your 'phone should you wish to.
The windscreen has two chips in that were treated by Autoglass (or someone similar a few years ago and haven't caused any issues, see pics.
We haven't really used her much over the last two years but she fired up well today (after about 10 months), and sounds great. I would suggest that a service/ check-over is done in the near future, just for peace of mind.
Also included are the Service and Workshop manuals, history folder(s), Lotus letter of provenance, original jack and high quality indoor breathable cover. Viewing is most welcome, we are located between Stafford and Newport (Salop), and we may be able to help with delivery if needed.
I have set the price as I believe this reflects the quality of the car and is a fair assessment
