1968 Lotus Elan S4 FHC RHD3 prior owners and first two across 57 yrs!This car has been subject to a long term ground up restoration by previous owner and as such most items are new. As you will see from the pictures it’s in exceptional mechanical condition ready for new owner to enjoy. This car has a new Spyder chassis, new suspension all round inc pro tech front coilovers. All new brake discs, pads, pipes and braided hoses, New Drive shaft cv joint conversion by TTR. All bushes nuts and bolts are new. Engine rebuild with polished and ported cylinder head, on webers. 117bhp with more to come. TTR Aluminium fuel tank. Facet fuel pump. SS Tony Thomson racing exhaust. Electric pop up light conversion. Retractable seat belts fitted. Battery isolator in boot. Registered as historic, zero road tax and mot exempt. This car had odometer reset to zero and I’ve done about 100 miles of running to get to know it. The car has been built as a “driver and hasn’t been over restored”. It isn’t a concourse restoration. It’s a car that has been built so it can be used without fear. Jan1968 registration and 45 suggests this was originally an S3 DHC. Interior carpets and seats dash and switchgear all very good. New headlining b panels and door seals. Recently installed and commissioned window electric motors. Just snapped the pax window cable. New one is here just not fitted yet. Bought the Sue miller window bolts too to help refit. Door locks a bit fiddly. All gauges work correctly. Manual fan over ride switch fitted for peace of mind. Complete spanner check by local classic specialist with items addressed such as handbrake function, new alternator, interior fan hook up, new washer jet pump, door hinges adjusted, alignment on steering, steering column coupling tightened, brakes bled, new spark plugs, wheel bearings checked and adjusted. Gearbox fluid changed and new clutch slave cylinder. New brake master cylinder. A great base to enjoy as is or evolve into a more focussed car. Stunning looking car. I have more underside pics if I haven’t covered it all. No osmosis or microblisters on paintRolling road set up just carried out focussing on drivability. I have the v5c present with manuals and receipts of what I’ve done with the car since buying it. Competitively priced considering that is “new” underneath.
