Description
Porsche 914/ 6 – 2. 5-Litre Twin-Plug Flat-Six – 5-Speed 915 – Laguna Blue
Originally supplied by a Porsche dealership in the USA in December 1974, this highly developed 914 was sourced from an architect in Oregon before making its way to the UK in 2008.
In 2020, the car was acquired by a dedicated Porsche collector who commissioned a comprehensive mechanical and cosmetic restoration. The engine was fully stripped and rebuilt, accompanied by a complete rebuild of the gearbox and all ancillaries. The body was also fully repainted before the car was meticulously reassembled.
The result is a beautifully sorted 914 that combines classic Porsche character with a thoroughly considered performance specification.
At its heart is a 2. 5-litre twin-plug flat-six, managed by Motec M84 and producing 229 bhp. A lightened flywheel, front-mounted oil cooler and five-speed 915 gearbox with 916-style shifter further enhance the driving experience.
Finished in Laguna Blue, the car sits on 15x8J 914/ 6 GT Fuchs alloys, with GT-style arches and lightweight GT front and rear bumpers. Inside, the black leather interior is complemented by the five-gauge dashboard layout.
If you've never driven a 914, this is the sort of car that could change your mind. Its low weight and mid-engined layout deliver beautifully precise, confidence-inspiring handling, while the flat-six provides genuinely impressive performance. The air-cooled soundtrack is a particular highlight, especially with the removable Targa roof in place.
