Description
For sale is my 1956 Standard Super Ten.
MOT, ULEZ and Tax exempt.
Walkaround video of the car: - details above
Does run and drive well and goes in all gears. Fitted with the 948cc OHV engine and four-speed manual gearbox.
The engine seems louder and more tappity than it should be; I suspect the rings on the bore have gone, typical of these engines. There is a spare engine included with the car, which I was told was in good order when purchased - not easy to find spare engines nowadays.
Has reasonable brakes which pull up well, rare for a 70 year old car. Steering is nice and straight and has 4 good tyres.
In 2021, it had £1002. 24 spent on bodywork.
In 2018, it had all new metal brake and clutch pipes fitted, a new clutch/ slave cylinder, new brake shoes, cylinders, adjuster, front back plates, dechoke, full carpet set, 4 new tyres, full carpets, chrome hinges and mirrors.
Bodywork and underside/ chassis are straight however the paint is cracking. Presents well from a distance, not good up close. Needs a full repaint. Interior-wise, I have taken off the headliner as it was sagging badly, however it is included in the rear of the car.
Three extra dials have been added that do battery amps, oil pressure and engine temperature.
V5 logbook has been misplaced. Will need to be applied for using a V62 form.
Comes with the owners manual and service instruction manual. Two sets of keys.
This is a 70 year old car, so trailering it away/ recovering it would be my recommendation. If you wish to drive it away, this would be at your own risk.
Overall a nice little project in an attractive colour scheme and draws lots of attention on the road.
