Description
History of the 2000 Fiat Dino Spider Launched in 1967 as the open-top counterpart to the coupé, the 2000 Fiat Dino Spider is a particularly fascinating chapter in the history of Italian car manufacturing. The result of cooperation between Fiat and Ferrari, the Spider was intended not only to embody sporting elegance, but also to enable the Ferrari V6 engine to be homologated for Formula 2 racing. The Spider's design was conceived by the famous firm of Pininfarina and embodies the Italian dolce vita of the time like few other models. The heart of the 2000 Fiat Dino Spider is the Ferrari-built 2. 0-litre, 160 bhp V6 engine, which proved easy to rev and full of character. This engine was also found in the first Ferrari Dino 206 models - a technical gem that Pininfarina dressed up in elegant roadster bodywork. The engine was complemented by a sporty five-speed manual gearbox, which gave the Spider extremely agile handling on the road. The 2000 Fiat Dino Spider is a perfect example of the harmonious interaction between racing technology and a stylish leisure vehicle. Its classic lines, combined with refined details such as chrome applications, a wooden steering wheel and leather upholstery, make it one of the most sought-after vehicles of its time. Despite its qualities - and no doubt precisely because of its exclusivity - the spider remained a rarity on the roads. Between 1967 and 1969, only around 1, 133 examples of the 2. 0-litre Spider were produced. With the introduction of the more powerful 2. 4-litre model, the 'little' Spider was eventually replaced - but its charm, sound and looks have remained unforgettable to this day. A Fiat at the heart of Ferrari - the Dino Spider 2000 is a timeless classic of Italian motoring art. Vita of the Fiat Dino Spider 2000 (SSC-637) This magnificent Fiat Dino Spider was first delivered in Milan in June 1968 with number plate MI-F70216. In 1971 it was sold to Francesco F. d'Ancona - number plate AN150264. In 2013, this spider was fully restored by the Dino specialist, Efferreci Service (Carlo Caselli), near Modena. A magnificent restoration book provides information about the extensive work carried out, which was completed in 2015. Through a dealer in Turin, this perfect Dino was sold in 2019 to a German classic car collector and subsequently covered a maximum of 4, 000 km. This is also the reason why this vehicle still looks like it came straight out of the egg. The paintwork, technology, interior and soft top are in excellent new condition. An appraisal report dating from 2023 attests to grade 1- and a replacement value of €157, 000. A magnificent maintenance-free Fiat Dino Spider in very good condition awaits its new owner to enjoy new adventures together. Summary The Fiat Dino Spider is no ordinary car - it's a promise. A promise of Italian style, indomitable passion and the sound of a true Ferrari heart. At a time when technology and perfection often take precedence over character, the Dino Spider stands at the side of the road like an elegant rebel and whispers: "Driving is more than moving - it's emotion". With its Maranello V6 engine and Pininfarina design, this car is an ode to the golden age of motoring. It combines elegance with true sportiness, shows curves where others have only lines, and sounds like an evening of Italian opera under a full moon. Rare, desirable, irretrievable - the Fiat Dino Spider is not just a collector's item, it's a piece of Italian cultural history on wheels. And yet, even as its value rises, it begs to be driven. An open roof, a winding country road, a sunset somewhere in Tuscany - this is what it was built for. "È un'auto che fa battere il cuore" - a car that makes the heart beat.
