Description
Our 356 B T6 cabriolet was assembled by Reutter, the historic Porsche coachbuilder whose workshops, located next to the marque's facilities in Zuffenhausen, produced the vast majority of 356 coupé and cabriolet bodies between 1950 and 1963.
Chassis 155742 marks it as one of the early 356 B T6 cabriolets. Indeed it sits at the early end of the Reutter cabriolets production range from 155601 to 158700, a total of 3, 099 units. It was produced in late 1961 and first registered on 15 March 1962 in the United States.
This is a 60 hp version confirmed by the engine code 616/ 1. The engine has three matching case numbers, identical; 876. The engine number is P607177 which corresponds to late-1961 production. Its gearbox, number 59824, is a 741 “dual mount”, the most developed of its generation, with reinforced synchronisers and double rear mounting, a guarantee of reliability and comfort; the whole engine/ gearbox combination matches its factory output.
The Ivory combination, code 6204, ivory, leather interior and red carpeting offers a sublime contrast to both the bodywork and the cabin!
Its extensive restoration dates back several years; its condition and its driving will delight the most discerning enthusiasts.
