This Porsche 914, perfectly preserved, was imported from California in 2000.
At the time it was a rolling chassis, without engine or transmission.
Absolutely rust-free, it was ideally suited as a base for a 6-cylinder engine with real power.
No one other than Raymond Wagner, founder of SWS, Sportwagenservice Spiesen, and a specialist in engines and restorer of classic Porsches for 40 years, subsequently built this SUPER 914 for his own collection.
He is also the builder of the two 914-8 cylinder Porsches, with Porsche 928 technology, see the Great Porsche 914 Book or Schröder-Classics. com.
He selected his favourite engine, the Carrera 6-cylinder in its final phase, as the engine. He, however, replaced the mechanical injection with a 46 mm double Weber carburettor system, which was actually used only in racing cars.
This means the engine has ample torque even at low revs and does not need to be subjected to excessive revs.
Not to mention the brutal sound that also comes from the spaghetti exhaust. But everything complies with TÜV.
The engine, the gearbox with clutch, the braking system, the chassis and the legendary Fuchs wheels were new or recently overhauled.
The exterior of the bodywork has been repainted all around in the original Gemini Blue.
The seals, rubbers and anything that wasn’t attractive were replaced. The same was true for anything that reminded us of our American roots.
The interior is still original, except for the odometer.
Over the last 20 years, the car has never been registered and has only been driven sporadically with garage-registration plates.
That is why, even today, the condition can be described as “like new”.
