This perfectly preserved Porsche 914 was imported from California in 2000. At the time, it was a rolling chassis, without engine or transmission.
Absolutely rust-free, it was ideal as a base for a conversion to a powerful six‑cylinder.
Raymond Wagner, founder of SWS, Sportwagenservice Spiesen, an engine builder and restorer of classic Porsches for 40 years, subsequently built this SUPER 914 for his own collection.
He is, moreover, the builder of the two 8‑cylinder engines for the Porsche 914, using technology from the Porsche 928. See the Great Porsche 914 Book or Schröder-Classics. com.
He chose his favourite engine, the 911’s six‑cylinder, for the transmission.
All of it was TÜV‑compliant, of course.
The engine, the clutch-equipped transmission, the braking system, the chassis and the legendary Fuchs wheels were new or recently overhauled.
The exterior of the bodywork has been repainted in its original colour.
The seals, rubbers and anything unsightly have been replaced, including anything that reminded of its American origins.
The interior remains original.
Over the past 20 years, the car has never been registered and has only run sporadically on red-number plates.
That’s why, even today, it can be described as “as-new.”
