Description
This superb Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Series II coupe is an exceptional, original car. It is the last chassis type 508F and the final evolution of the V12 Tipo 128F engine. All serial numbers have been authenticated and match Ferrari records. The car is registered in the Netherlands and sports a striking two-tone combination: 'Grigio Platino' (original colour), anthracite grey roof and dark red leather interior.
The car was ordered new by Captain John C. Malone of the US Air Force in February 1960. Mr Malone was then stationed in Tokyo. In March 1960, the car was shipped directly from Italy to Yokohama, becoming the very first Ferrari imported to Japan! The arrival caused a stir; Prancing Horse magazine reported articles about it in Yokohama and Tokyo newspapers. When Mr Malone returned to the United States, the car was repatriated. The Air Force captain enjoyed driving it through the streets of Denver, Colorado. At that time, the car was repainted white and its original leather interior was replaced with a black interior.
Mr J. C. Malone ultimately kept the car for 40 years, until its sale in 2000, at the age of 80. With only 43, 000 miles on the odometer, it was regarded as a genuine time capsule. It then belonged to Mr J. Heumann of San Francisco, California, who later sold it to Mr M. Vittoz of Lyon, France.
In 2009, the car was exported to the Netherlands, then sold by Lukas Huni to its current Dutch collector at the end of 2012. Within this collection, one of the Netherlands’ most important Ferrari collections, it has been impeccably maintained. This magnificent 250 GT is in very good condition, with a beautiful original paintwork showing few imperfections and perfectly aligned panels. The chrome is excellent. The interior, restored with high-quality materials, is like new. The engine bay is neat in every detail and, as expected, entirely original. In October 2022, a complete service was carried out by Dutch Ferrari specialists. The bill came to €10, 500. The car subsequently took part in the Zoute Rally in Belgium. It runs perfectly and is a joy to drive. The engine is powerful and the gearbox is very smooth.
After 13 years in its collection, it is ready to find a new, passionate owner and is just waiting to be driven… at high speed!
Offered at €375, 000.

Model history
Throughout the 1950s, Ferrari enjoyed unprecedented success with the 250 series, consisting of road and race cars. A flagship model for the marque in its early days, the 250 series included many variants and was characterised by the use of the 3-litre V12 engine designed by Lampredi or Colombo.
Launched in Paris in 1958, the 250 GT Pininfarina Coupé replaced the Boano/ Ellena model. It is regarded as one of the first Ferraris produced in volume. In total, 351 examples were built, of which 151 were Series II. From 1960, it benefited from a modernisation with the addition of disc brakes and new engines fitted with external spark plugs.
With its timeless, elegant design, the Ferrari 250 GT Pininfarina Coupé was one of the most coveted cars of its era.
