MG launched its first post-war car, the TC Midget, in 1945. An evolution of the TA and TB, it stuck to the same familiar and much-loved formula: a compact, lightweight two-seater with a steel body mounted on an ash frame. It was powered by the XPAG engine, renowned for being easily tuned, and offered more space inside, thanks to a body that was 10 centimetres wider at the rear of the doors. The model was highly popular, with just over 10,000 produced over a four-year period.
 
This late model from 1949 was extensively restored around 2015-16, and comes with a significant amount of supporting documentation. Its red exterior and chromework is bright, with only a slight blemish on the passenger door reported by the seller. The car comes with a beige hood, making it usable in all weather.

Inside, the restored interior features a curved walnut veneer dashboard, wood-rimmed steering wheel and period-correct instrumentation and switchgear, with cream upholstery. New MG floor mats have been fitted.
 
The seller states that the car runs well, thanks to the extensive restoration. Some suspension components were replaced in 2017. The engine bay and underside of the car are both very well-presented.
 
The charming, quintessentially British sports car is now ready to provide a new owner both with attention and driving fun.
