Overview
The Jaguar Mk2 3.8 is one of the most iconic sporting saloons of the 1960s. Its competition pedigree spans from touring car championships to the world’s premier international rally events. Built in the spirit of Tour Auto cars, this 1963 example was designed to offer a balance between road comfort and participation in historic competition. The seller states that it meets the eligibility criteria for FIA and Peter Auto events, notably Le Mans Classic, the Tour Auto and the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally.
Acquired in 2000 from the president of the Rolls-Royce & Bentley Club of France, this Mk2 received a full restoration between 2010 and 2014, carried out by Et NASCAR, the workshop of Paul Julien in Rueil-Malmaison. The engine, gearbox, differential, braking system and suspension were overhauled or upgraded, while the cabin was restored and the body repainted in Old English White.
The current owner, only the third known keeper of the car, has since had the carburettors and ignition system overhauled. Having covered around 2,500 km since restoration and always kept in a heated garage, this Mk2 3.8 represents an attractive opportunity to acquire a well-prepared example with solid provenance and eligible for numerous historic events.
