The Series 2 E-Type Fixed Head Coupé occupies an increasingly appreciated place in the Jaguar pantheon, retaining the essential beauty and character of the Series 1 E-Type while benefiting from improved ergonomics, better cooling and the wonderfully torquey 4.2-litre engine. For those who want to drive rather than simply display their E-Type, the Series 2 makes a compelling case.
This particular car is an original right-hand drive, UK-supplied example that was first delivered to Page & Scott in Colchester in December 1969 before being registered in September 1970, under the registration it retains to this day. Crucially, it is noted to be a matching-numbers car, finished in its original British Racing Green, though the interior has been re-trimmed from Cinnamon to Oxblood Red at some point in its life.
Presented in honest, well-used condition, this is a true driver's E-Type, one to be enjoyed in all weathers without the anxiety that accompanies concours examples.
