The Appeal
The W113 perfected the formula pioneered by the 190SL, swapping that car’s 4-cylinder engines for tough straight-six motors that were better suited to America’s long-distance highways. That it was beautiful too, thanks to Paul Bracq’s restrained lines, certainly helped.
The combination of the M130 2.8L engine and 4spd auto box offers the best touring combination for these stylish, comfortable cars. This lovely 1970 car adds a very attractive Dark Olive Green colour scheme to its appeal. Then there’s the ultra rare and very sought-after factory ‘Kinder’ seat in the back. This period accessory offers space for a small third passenger or can be folded flat to add luggage space.
The car is in very good order and said to run well with no issues. European duties have been paid, and registration is said to be pending. Showing 91,888 kilometres, this Pagoda warrants close attention from enthusiasts seeking a well-kept example of one of Stuttgart's finest.

The car shows few signs of its 56 years, aside from the slightest wear to the driver’s seat and a small tear to the roof, neither of which is of concern. The car’s body plate confirms it is a USA car and was factory-fitted with the Becker stereo it retains. It is also fitted with the highly desirable ‘Kinder’ rear seat.

- Four-speed automatic transmission
- Vendor reports the car starts immediately and runs well

With 170bhp from its M130 2.8L straight six fuel injected engine, this W113 Pagoda was a quick car in period and is perfectly able to keep up with traffic today. That, plus the 4spd auto box, explains why these cars are so popular as touring classics.
The car is said to run and drive very well with no issues.
